Angeles Arrien

Dear Metta Institute Community,

We are sorry to inform you of the sad news that Angeles Arrien passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, of complications after a long bout of walking pneumonia.

Angeles was a member of the core faculty of the Metta Institute and much beloved by our students and faculty. Angeles held the work and community of the Metta Institute very close to her heart. Her commitment to our community was steadfast. We will miss and mourn our dear friend. Yet we are also filled with gratitude for her life. A life characterized by integrity, love, generosity, humility and wisdom. She dedicated her life to service and lived a fully as anyone we have known.

For those who wish to honor her memory, she asked that they light a candle once a month on the anniversary of her passing, for one year. At Angeles' request, there will not be a public memorial, her family will have a closed private service at a later date.

We honor her and feel a profound appreciation for her teachings and life. She will be missed by many because she touched the hearts of so many.

Angeles would often end her lectures by playfully blowing kisses to the audience. Inevitably, even the most professional audiences would respond in kind.

Angeles we blow kisses in all directions. May they surround you and accompany you on your journey into the Mystery.

With love and endless gratitude,
The Metta Institute Faculty
