About Stephen & Ondrea Levine

These two renowned spiritual teachers and authors are pioneers in conscious care of the dying. Their work has touched the lives thousands of people facing life threatening or serious illness and their caregivers. They have taught alongside Ram Dass, Elisabeth Kübler-Ross and the Dalai Lama. Their life and work, embodies the message of compassion, personal peace and the transformation that are possible for all.

Stephen is the author of numerous books, including Who Dies, Healing into Life and Death, Turning Toward the Mystery, and A Year to Live.

Ondrea's new autobiography The Healing I Took Birth For is an intimate heartfelt sharing of Ondrea Levine's life of service. It is a deeply inspiring example of how one faces illness and personal difficulty as a spiritual practice with grace, compassion and wisdom.

Provides educational programs that foster mindful and compassionate end of life care. Founded by Frank Ostaseski and inspired by the Buddhist tradition, our approach is mindfulness-based, compassion-focused and relationship-centered.

End-of-Life Practitioner Program
has earned a national reputation as an innovative source of learning for healthcare professionals and others who are dedicated to transforming care of the dying. The five inter-related training modules combine to form one of the most comprehensive programs of its kind in the country. Participants can select the option that best fits your needs and schedule.

Spirit Rock Center Program
In 2013, the Metta Institute and the Spirit Rock Center will collaborate in a new program tentatively titled the Heavenly Messenger Two Year Training Program. The program will explore the experiences of old age, sickness and death. Participants will study classical Buddhist teachings and contemporary approaches to working skillfully with these issues. The program will include five week-long retreats as well as teleconferences, independent study and ongoing teacher mentorship.
